Man dies in single-car crash on Boulevard

A single-car crash claimed the life of a man on Roosevelt Boulevard early on April 22.

Police had not released the name of the fatality as of Tuesday. He was identified as a 40-year-old man. The crash occurred at about 4:20 a.m. in the northbound inner lanes near Ryan Avenue as a 2008 Hyundai Elantra was traveling at a high rate of speed and the driver lost control of the car, striking a couple of trees.

Emergency responders reportedly extracted the driver from the wreckage. He was the only occupant of the car. Paramedics took him to Aria Health’s Torresdale Campus where he was pronounced dead at 5:23 a.m. due to unspecified injuries. ••
